Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has accused the National Enquirer tabloid of trying to blackmail the public with his intimate photos.

On Thursday, the billionaire wrote on the blogging platform Medium that the publisher of the National Enquirer American Media Inc. (AMI) threatened to publish the pictures he sent to his beloved. AMI asked Bezos for an investigation into revealing the entire history of his private life.

In January, the National Enquirer revealed the Amazon executive’s extramarital affair with former host Lauren Sanchez. Scandal list published private text messages between the two. Bezos then instructed private detectives to find out how the discovery was made – and whether there might be political motives behind it.

Amazon boss Bezos: There is no evidence of a political motive

On Thursday, the world’s richest man wrote, AMI asked him to publicly explain that he had done so. there is no evidence of a political motive, or “influential political forces” behind the disclosure of the history of Intimate Pictures, however, they have not been published.

The founder of Amazon highlighted the close ties between the head of AMI, David Pecker, and US President Donald Trump. Pecker admitted that he helped Trump in the 2016 election campaign by settling the payment of secret money to an alleged previous sexual partner.

Amazon boss Bezos is not “surrendering to extortion”

Bezos, the prestigious American newspaper “Washington Post” is one of those whom Trump repeatedly attacked in the short message service Twitter. The billionaire also referred to connections from AMI to Saudi Arabia.

He would not give in to “blackmail”, even if embarrassing revelations now threaten, Bezos wrote. “Of course I do not want personal photos published. But I will not contribute to their well-known practice of blackmail, political favors, political attacks and corruption.”

Bezos and his wife MacKenzie announced in early January in a joint statement that they were divorcing.
