A stray dog was captured on video napping in the street with its head on a forgotten bear.
Photographer Yvette Holzbach wrote: “This is a stray dog who finds solace in an old abandoned toy. How many dogs do we see that are also thrown into the street after they have accomplished their purpose? “
The photo went viral as people were deeply saddened by this sad photo and wanted to know what happened that day. But while many expressed sympathy, others questioned why Yvette didn’t save the dog, rather than just taking a picture of it and then walking away.

But the overwhelming number of homeless dogs on the street is too much for Yvette and her colleagues, and for this reason, she posted the following reaction on Facebook for all those who have condemn her.

According to Yvette, the 87-year-old has rescued many dogs on the street over the years and even kept two in his yard at one point.
“I hope that by posting the photo, awareness of the suffering of wandering dogs has been awakened. We are fighting an uphill battle and we can only hope that one someday there will be no more dogs fighting for life on the street.”
