“It was a stressful week and Veranita Yosephine suggested a massage. I loved Indonesia and the AirAsia culture to be able to have a massage and hold a board meeting. We are making great progress and I have now completed the capital structure of A. Exciting days ahead. Proud of what we have built and we never lost sight of the bottom line,” wrote Tony Fernandes on LinkedIn.

He also shared a picture of himself sitting shirtless on a chair getting a massage while on a date.

Here’s what people are saying about this post:

The individual wrote: “A grown man who is the CEO of a publicly traded company conducts a board meeting shirtless while receiving a massage. Take away the ‘who is the CEO of a publicly traded company’ and it’s still inappropriate.”

Another commented: “I’m going to assume this meeting took place long after the work day ended and most of the offices were empty (except for a few C-levels) but at least put a shirt on for the photo.”

“Yeah, maybe this isn’t the best way to show work culture. Don’t think you’re making the impression you were hoping for,” posted another.

A fourth commented: “I wonder how this would be received if a woman or a woman-identifying person posted a picture of themselves in the same pose? What are we trying to say? No time for self-care? ‘Hustle culture’ and ‘grinding’ is no longer a part vocabulary of younger generations. This is actually a snapshot of losing sight of the finish line of modern C-Suite culture. This is a snapshot of my early career and feeling uncomfortable every moment of my day. This is a snapshot of why so many workers don’t return to the office. Why does the so much downsizing due to loss of cash flow to a frivolous loss of billable hours and expenses? I usually refrain from commenting. But this is beyond stressful.”
