Akon, a Senegalese-American artist, took the internet by storm for comparing Africans and black Americans. During an appearance on the Zeze Millz Show, the 49-year-old celebrity explained how African singers’ on-stage behavior differs from black American behavior. When asked about Africans, Akon said they are unique in their stage presence. He then made a comment about black American performers, saying:
“Now in America, oh yes, those whores will wobble, pull their pants down, get bored, doze off because they’re as tall as h*ll on stage.”
He continued:
“However, [in] Africa, we wake up in the morning. Check out these YouTube videos of all these young men from Uganda. As if they were young actors. So it’s normal for us.”

Others simply claim that the artist built his career by “cosplaying” black Americans and became a billionaire as a result.
