Love is blind star Johnie Maraist is reportedly dating her new boyfriend Alex Yovanovic. Johnie launched her new relationship on Instagram after her ex Chris Fox admitted to cheating on her. Hours after the shocking revelation was revealed at the reality show’s Season 5 reunion, the lawyer showed off her romance with Alexa in a series of PDA-laden pictures.
Johnie headlined the video collage, which featured an instrumental rendition of Adele’s song Someone like you plays in the background, “I’m fine.” On Monday, Johnie marked the couple’s one-year anniversary with additional pictures showing her passion with Yovanovic.
“The journey was hell but it brought me heaven 🩵,” she wrote in the caption. “Happy one year Alex – thank you for showing me what true love is.”
In June 2023, Alex and Johnie went to Las Vegas, Nevada to attend their friend’s wedding. He went with Yovanović to lawyers’ parties in December 2022.
The former reality star initially revealed that she had happily moved on after Chris admitted to being unfaithful during the Season 5 reunion. The Love is blind Colleagues admitted that their relationship ended after Maraist found out that the project manager was secretly seeing someone else.
“That weekend was my birthday weekend and Chris had an out-of-state wedding, so he went out of state and I didn’t see him,” she recalled. “And then the next week I didn’t see him, and then the next weekend I found out Chris was seeing someone else. And yes, I never saw him again.”
Chris said he regrets not “being forthcoming” with Johnie.
“I didn’t deal with the situation as someone should, but I found someone who I live with and love now and we are very happy together. And I’m sorry if that hurts to hear. I know I made a mistake – he said. “I felt guilty and heartbroken and had as much emotion as I could because I fell in love with [her].”
The fifth season of the popular Netflix series featured a tumultuous relationship between the two.
Fans of the Netflix sensation watched Chris and Johnie bond in pods during the show’s early episodes. Johnie, who claimed Chris felt like the “safer” choice, ended things with Chris because she thought her relationship with Izzy Zapata was stronger. Chris was devastated by their split, but it didn’t take long for Johnie to reach out to him again and look for another chance after Izzy broke up with her to date Stacy Snyder.
Chris rejected Johnie’s offer and kept his position, however, it was revealed in episode 7 that the two eventually rekindled their romance and decided to go on dates outside of the pods.
Maraist turned 32 in May 2023. She is the daughter of Todd Maraist and Denise Maraist, who have been married since 1985.
Maraist is a corporate transaction attorney at Latham & Watkins. She started working there in June 2021. She reportedly has four years of experience, according to Justia Lawyers.
