Alexander told News Shopper: “The first audition was just one-on-one with the casting director and I was preparing with my drama teacher at school, but I didn’t think anything would come of it. Over a month and a half later, when I had completely forgotten about it, I was invited to a three-day audition for chemistry and stunts in London. On day one, the other Peter candidates and I worked with potential Wendy’s: Peters and Wendy’s came from all over, with some flying in from the US and Canada.”
He added: “Two weeks later I was asked to come back to London and audition again, which meant I had to come back from my Scottish holiday. However, it was worth it because a week later he called my mom and told her that I got the job. When my mom told me I got the part, I didn’t know how to react, so I asked if she could have a chocolate mousse.”
Prior to live action, Alexander worked on various other projects. He co-narrated a series of animated shorts called The Untold Tales of the Eternals for the Marvel HQ YouTube channel to help promote the new Marvel movie Eternals. Alexander became interested in voice work when he had to voice a commercial that he also acted in, at the age of eight. From there, he began providing voices for animation, such as Claude and Ooo Ooo in Raa Raa the Noisy Lion.

Claire told News Shopper: “We haven’t heard at this point and I’ve ruled it out completely. Then, completely unexpectedly, at the end of January I heard that Alexander had been canceled and called up to the screen/chemistry stage where he would meet the director, producers and the American casting director, who had flown to the UK. .”
In addition, he added: “The three-day process was stressful. They told us we’d get back to him in two weeks, so I was sure he’d get a call saying he didn’t get the part. However, during the February semester, when Alexander left with his father and his brother, I received a call that they wanted to see him again.
Claire concluded: “So Alexander had to come back from his trip and I took him to London again. The next few days were agonizing and I was so glass half empty that I braced myself for the ‘sorry’ call. However, Alexander’s agent called me later from his own phone to tell me that he had been cast.”
