When Anthony Cook and his group got into an accident for the first time, he immediately called his parents, Beverly and Keith Cook. “We can’t find Mallory. I can’t find Mallory,” were the only words Anthony could say to them. Beverly and Keith then rushed to the scene, becoming some of the first family members to arrive and speak to officials.

Who are the parents of Anthony Cook?
Anthony Cook was born to his parents, Beverly and Keith Cook. They first encountered Mallory Beach when she was just three or four years old while they were actively working on their job building a home for her family. The two clans were then united, which soon became their children, literally growing up together and falling deeply in love.
“[Mallory] it brought out a side of him that we hadn’t seen,” Beverly said in the documentary Murdaugh Murders: A Southern Scandal.
Unfortunately, that all changed on the fateful night of February 24, 2019, when Beverly and Keith received a call from Anthony saying their group had been in a boating accident. “Obviously, when you get a call in the middle of the night, you know something’s wrong,” Beverly said.
Therefore, Anthony’s parents immediately went to the scene to comfort their shocked son, but also to coordinate with other parents in the search for Mallory.
For those wondering, Anthony refused to leave Mallory behind. So her parents went to the place and not to the hospital like any other parent. “[He] he stayed there all day,” Keith stated before Beverly continued, “he didn’t want to leave. Every day, Anthony went down into the water. He would talk to her and pray. That day I heard him say to one of her friends: ‘I don’t know what will happen, but if she got out of this water now, I would marry her today. I would take her and marry her now.”
Unfortunately, Mallory never came out that night. Her body was not found until eight days later. Rumors circulated that the search was taking so long because of the Murdaugh family because young Paul Murdaugh was driving the boat drunk.

Anthony Cook’s mother, Beverly Cook, is the daughter of Cecil Freeman and Bonnie. He has two paternal uncles and seven brothers/cousins. Sadly, his grandmother Mary Alice Mixson Freeman passed away on July 30, 2012 at the age of 81.
After Mallory Beach passed away, Beverly took to her FB to share her thoughts on the matter. In her post, she recalled the time she had to force her son off the bridge where they spent a week in agony while searching for sweet Mallory. She also added that the event hurt her and there was nothing she could do to ease that pain.
But over the years, Beverly has learned that even if we know our loved ones are in heaven, the rest of us are still just human. And as humans, we must grieve. “The grieving process is different in nature and duration for everyone. Certain reminders, like today’s, can cause that process to resurface, even when we think we’ve moved on to a ‘somewhat’ better place,” she explained.
Also, before ending her post, she mentioned that she was so grateful for the time she spent with Mallory.
