A new season of MAFS UK returns in 2023, with one contestant Arthur Poremba traveling the world as a tennis coach and working with some of the sport’s most successful players.
Eager to commit to a meaningful relationship, Arthur says, “I’m ready to find the love of my life.” He hopes the experiment can help him find the fairytale relationship he’s always dreamed of.
The tennis coach raised some questions when, despite never having met Laura, he copied Google-generated vows that ended with “I love you.” Although fans of X, formerly known as Twitter, called Arthur’s romantic statement “hedgehog”, Arthur stated that he still stands by it.
Arthur said, “Maybe a little, but then again how do you choose words for someone you’ve never met before? I was moving at the same time so I didn’t have time to sit down and think about how I was feeling. I can’t change anything now, I have no regrets.”
MAFS UK 2023: Are Arthur Poremba and Laura still together?
After calling Laura Vaughan his “wife”, Married’s Arthur Poremba dropped some hints that they are still together at first glance.
After Laura spoke to Luke to defend herself in the episode, Arthur took to Instagram to praise his wife for how she handled the situation.
The London-based tennis coach wrote: “Look at me hard tonight, I won’t lie, kudos to my wife Laura for standing up for herself and our marriage, heartbroken I wasn’t there for her. Laura has NEVER mentioned anything about MONEY or that she is looking for someone to support her financially, so let’s get this out of the way please.”
The statement suggested they may still be together.
At MAFS UK, Laura became close to Arthur Poremba, who was born in Poland and came to England at the age of 16. They had a difficult start, and Laura said: “The first episode was very difficult for me. There’s so much you don’t see – you only see about four percent of the day,’ she admits. And while Laura can’t be the bearer of spoilers, she’s full of praise for Arthur and the relationship they’ve developed.”
“I think you’ll see that I support him and his incredible past,” she reveals. “He always joked that he could have hired me to be there for the rest of his life since he moved to England to do that.”
Laura confronted her groom during Wednesday’s episode. Although he had only met Laura moments earlier, Arthur gave Laura and her companions goosebumps when he declared his love for her at the end of the vows. Laura was not impressed when Arthur’s friends discovered he had found his vows online after the ceremony.
Laura decided to confront her thoughts by asking her husband about his vows before admitting she knew he didn’t write them.
Arthur admitted: ‘It’s a perfect example of me trying to be someone I’m not.’
Laura is overcome with emotion as Married at First Sight UK’s second vows ceremony begins as she recalls Luke calling her a “gold digger”.
Laura closed it and said, “I’ve never needed a man to pay for anything in my life. It was fucking painful to hear when I had been used for it myself in the past. I actually paid for my last wedding, so if I’m a gold digger then I’m definitely doing it wrong.”
