Steven Stayner shocked the country with his story of being kidnapped at the age of seven in December 1972 and returning to his family 7 years later while also heroically rescuing another five-year-old boy, Timmy White, who had been kidnapped. The three-part documentary also covers the story of Steven’s older brother, Cary, who is now in prison after being convicted of murdering four women in the first half of 1999.

Steven Stayner married Jody Edmondson in 1985. He had a hard time adjusting to life after the kidnapping. He didn’t do well in school and also caused trouble with the law. But things started to change when he met Jody. They fell in love, dated for a year, and were married in June 1985. About four years later, Ashley Stayner was born.

Ashley Stayner was a preschooler when she lost her father in a car accident. So all she had about her father were vague memories and media stories, because her family was always reluctant to talk about it.

Later, from January 2015 to sometime in 2017, he attended the US Military University online. Before that, she was only educated at Buhach Colony High School.

Ashley did not appear to have a husband at the time of writing this article. But she had a partner but she unfortunately she lost him sometime in September 2014 his name was Matthew Galvan and he died after he was shot at a house party after an argument with some members.
Matthew, now deceased, according to his Facebook, worked at the Merced Shipping and Docking facilities, studied at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and attended Merced High School. A native of Merced, California, he was also the father of Ashley’s daughter Brianna.

Several years have passed since the tragedy, and Ashley has not stopped writing about it on social media. Every year that passes doesn’t hurt less, she said.
Ashley Stayner’s mother and brother
Shortly after Ashley’s birth, her brother Steven Jr. joined her. Both joined her parents in their four years together. And it is said that the children only made their relationship worse.
The couple is said to have eventually divorced despite actively trying to patch things up. Not long after, Steven died unexpectedly and prematurely in a motorcycle accident in 1989 when she was just 24 years old.
Fast forward to today, Ashley’s mom is now married to Craig Gumm of Lima, Ohio and now lives in Salem, Oregon. Meanwhile, Ashley’s mother went to Valsetz High School and worked at the Oregon State IRS.
As for Ashley’s brother, Steven Gregory Stayner, he now seemed to be happily married and living in Merced, California. Like Ashley, he appears to have previously served in the US Army.
