The fourth season of Love Is Blind hit the screens on March 24, 2023 and, for the first time in its history, singles were looking for love on the West Coast. As always, however, the theme remained the same: 30 new contestants, including Ava, entered the group looking for love while only listening to the voices of their would-be others.
A few weeks before the premiere, Ava took to her IG to reveal the big news: “I’m so excited to finally share that I’m on @LoveIsBlindNetflix Season 4! Join me in seeing where my journey of love takes me at the premiere of Love is Blind on March 24!
According to her Netflix bio, she wanted to “assure a guy that he’s all in” after “settlement” in a previous relationship. She considered herself “wife material” and wanted a husband who would accept her “super tight” family and her self-described “ugly laugh.”
Her biggest pet peeve in the relationship was a man who didn’t floss. Ava seems to have had problems with her dental hygiene.
For those of you new to the series, Love Is Blind follows the singles who introduce themselves through their groups, unable to see each other but able to communicate as much as they want. So once they decide, the prospective husband/wife will go on a trip to a romantic destination and meet each other’s family before deciding whether or not they want to get married in the final episode.

Ava Van Jenson’s ex-husband
Ava Van Jenson was married to her ex-husband Peter Jenson from September 2, 2017 to 2020.
Three years after their divorce, Ava finally opened up about how “race and religion” ended their marriage. It all started when violent protests broke out after the George Floyd tragedy in May 2020. “Buildings were burned. People were crying out for help, for an end to systemic racism,” she said.
He couldn’t sleep for weeks. “I felt sorry for our black community. I was also deeply disturbed by the racist conversation on social media. But most of all, I was terrified for the future of America,” Ava added.
But as she talked to the mayor about her concerns and how to be equal to changes in the community, she couldn’t believe what was happening in her circle. The priest at his church posted photos of people holding their Confederate flags and Betsy Ross armed with AK-47s “to protest local businesses.” He supported what they were doing and taunted the protesters into confronting them with violence.
“I was shocked, horrified and confused by it all. When I needed God the most, I couldn’t even trust the leaders of my church,” Ava said. So, she asked her husband (now ex) at the time if they could go to another church. Unfortunately, he told her that if she didn’t go to her church (built by her parents), he would “resent it.” And if she doesn’t remain orthodox, he would divorce her.
The two then visited an Asian therapist for marriage counselling. However, the counselor was less concerned with issues of race and religion. “She said that I was the problem in the marriage. She seems to have been a leading Republican in Washington,” Ava said.
Therefore, the divorce was inevitable.
