Avoid rain-drenched pants during your commute to work with the Legs Jacket

One of the most useful pieces of gear any hiker, backpacker, or cyclist can have is a good rain jacket. Designed to keep us warm and dry in the worst weather conditions, these jackets are essential for anyone who spends a lot of time outdoors.

But what about keeping your feet dry too? After all, the rain doesn’t just fall on your upper body. Enter the Vear Legs Jacket, a new piece of outerwear that recently launched on Kickstarter. Promising to shed moisture like a jacket, these waterproof pants are designed to zip quickly and easily over your body when an unexpected storm rolls around. This gives Legs jackets a level of practicality and versatility that is not usually found in other garments of this type, making them a good solution to always have in your backpack.

Made from water- and wind-resistant fabric, the Leg Jacket is available in two versions: one designed for everyday use in light rain, and a more durable version made for active pursuits in more demanding conditions. Both versions feature highly breathable fabrics that keep the wearer comfortable, even at higher temperatures. They also come equipped with waterproof pockets, adjustable waist straps and reflective elements that make the wearer more visible in low light conditions. As if that wasn’t enough, the Legs Jacket has been specially designed to be packable too, making it just as easy to take on your morning commute to the office as it is on a longer backpacking trip.

According to the official Kickstarter page, these pants take less than 15 seconds to put on or take off. Even better, you can do it without taking your shoes off. This is achieved thanks to durable YKK zippers that run the length of each leg, allowing you to get the pants on and off in no time. When you no longer need them or when you arrive at your destination, you can just as easily remove them.

The crowdfunding campaign has already surpassed its goal of $22,000, which means the Legs Jacket should go into production in December and start shipping to backers in February. They are expected to retail for around $150, but early contributors can claim a pair for $99.
