dr. Julie Smith is a psychologist and she shared a confusing illusion on TikTok where she explains exactly how the brain can see things that don’t really exist.

In the clip, which begins as black and white footage, Julie sits in a garden with a cross on her forehead as she explains exactly how the experiment works.
She says, “This video is in black and white, but when you play it back, it will be in full color.”
She says to focus on the cross that is on her head the whole time you watch the video.
By doing this, he says, “your brain will do something amazing, overexposing certain receptors in your eyes to color causes the brain to see colors inverted when a black and white image appears.
