Nearby fire departments dispatched divers and an unmanned crew. Numerous boats spent hours searching for the sunken car before it was finally recovered and towed away.

A woman who witnessed the accident said the Parks were busy in the warm February and she saw the emergency services trying to save the victim.

According to homicide detectives, a witness called police at 3:10 p.m. after seeing a white object floating in the water at 175 Roslyn West Shore Road.

Nassau County EMS pulled the 2023 BMW X3 SUV from the water, according to police. During the investigation, the death was marked as undetermined.
