You may have heard countless stories of people storing messages in a bottle and hiding them for years. However, this time the cheeky message written on the top of the bottle went viral on social media.
A beer bottle with a message from 1955 (Reddit/@Env-scientist)
“I found a message on a beer bottle behind the wall of a crumbling house,” Reddit user ‘Env-scientist’ wrote while sharing the post on the story-sharing platform.
There is also a picture of the bottle. On top of that, the message reads: “This bottle was placed here by a plumber on 3/25/55.”

This post was shared a few days ago. Since it was published, it has received close to 6,000 upvotes. The share also has numerous comments. Many took to the comment section of the post to share the messages they found hidden in the bottle.”

The individual wrote: “Found one in my home while remodeling. It was in the bathroom. There was a note from 1912 when the house was built, one from 1945 when it was remodeled (there was a lot of talk about the war and how their son died), one from 1976, and the one from 2014 that I left behind. All the same jar.”
Another commented: “Old house built in the 40’s/50’s that we lived in a few years ago. I found an envelope stuffed above the door frame leading to the basement (the stairs leading to the first floor were right above the ones leading to the basement) this created a small opening that I randomly reached in to find it. It had about $10,000 in 100’s that were all 40 years old or so. It was covered by several inches of dust. Not something one would normally forget, I can only imagine who hid it there and died without ever telling the family or whatever.”
