Keurig recently announced that it will be discontinuing its Drinkworks Home Bar, leaving a huge void in the home bartending space. There were a few other options, but Black & Decker came out of nowhere at CES 2022 with the Bev, a pretty impressive machine that can hold five different drinks of your choice.
It might be the first home bartender capable of making a legitimate Long Island Iced Tea.
At $300, the Bev isn’t cheap — but it’s also no more expensive than other options on the market. The straws draw the drink straight from the bottle, which means there is no need to buy custom bottles or pour the drink into another container. You also don’t have to turn it upside down. Just fill the Bev with your drink of choice, fill the container with water, then place the pod containing the juice and bitters.

You can choose how strong you want your drink to be. Bev measures the appropriate amount of drink and stirs the drink before pouring it into the glass. According to Black & Decker, the entire process takes approximately 30 seconds from start to finish.
Black & Decker partnered with Bartesian (ironically, one of Keurig’s biggest competitors) to produce the Bev. The pods themselves are where the costs go up. At $15 for a six-pack of pods, costs can add up if you’re making a lot of cocktails.
You can’t control the Bev via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, but it includes a feature where you can light up the bottles with LEDs to create a private party in your kitchen.
Bev may be able to make expert drinks, but you won’t save money using it. If you want to keep your cocktail costs down, look up some recipes online and learn how to mix your own. But if you want simplicity and practicality, the Bev is a great option.
