The video begins to show a group of lions lounging under a tree as a herd of buffalo moves in their direction. Soon, the lioness approached the calf. As the video goes, a herd of buffalo, led by a mother buffalo, bravely fights lions to protect the cub. Towards the end, a mother buffalo throws herself in front of the lions to save her cub.
The video was taken by Gavin Brett, who is a lawyer, on his family trip to Thornybush Game Reserve in South Africa.
