Cecilie Fjellhøy is one of the victims of Shimon Hayut’s Tinder scam in the Netflix true crime series “Tinder Swindler.” An Israeli citizen swindled several European women out of hundreds of thousands of dollars. How is that possible? He introduced himself as Simon Leviev, son of Lev Leviev.

Cecilie and Shimon met him in 2018 while browsing the dating app Tinder. Šimon became interested in her when he found her profile on Tinder. But one night in April 2018, she received a bloody photo message from her boyfriend. Her boyfriend claimed that he was ambushed by his enemies to kill him. After the incident, he asked her for financial support.
He then agreed to support Shimon when things took a dramatic turn when Hayut informed Fjelljøy of alleged threats against him, claiming he was concerned for his safety. She took a loan from ten different banks, despite her apparent wealth.
They were swindled out of over £200,000. She wrote a check for more than £369,000 ($500,000) to pay back the money he borrowed and more. But when he tried to cash the check, he bounced. He later revealed that Hayut has a fraudulent past dating back to 2015.
After realizing she had been set up, Cecilie reported it to Hayut in Norway and England after cutting off all contact with the man she believed to be her boyfriend. She contacted the Norwegian publication VG and handed over all documentation of their relationship, including text messages and voice notes.
