The New York Times appeared at CES 2023 with Delta to confirm that a selection of games are part of the upcoming Delta Exclusives Hub. Delta Air Lines passengers will soon be able to play Wordle, Spelling Beeand more during flights via the airline’s free Wi-Fi.
Currently, those flying on Delta flights only have free access to iMessage, Facebook Messenger, and WhatsApp. However, starting February 1, Delta Air Lines plans to offer free Wi-Fi on its flights to Delta SkyMiles members, and a lot of content will be available from a new landing page called the Delta Exclusives Hub.
When the Delta Exclusives Hub launches sometime in the spring of 2023, its hub will give travelers access to games like Wordle, Spelling Beeand Crossword puzzle on domestic US flights for free, regardless of whether they are New York Times subscribers or not.
This announcement comes almost a year after the purchase of The New York Times Wordle at the peak of social media phenomenon status. Although it is not as trendy as it was a year ago, Wordle it still attracts many players and is a major part of The New York Times Games offering. In particular, The New York Times seems to want to expand the places where people can play Wordlebecause they integrated it into their Crossword app in December 2022.
