While at USC, Tim was selected to the USA Volleyball All-American First Team six times from 1979-1984. He helped the USA win the Canada Cup by defeating Cuba in 1981 and was named MVP. He led Team USA to a silver medal at the 1981 NORCECA Championships.
The team also spent eight years competing in Italy’s Serie A1 pro league. Although he did not play in Italy during the winter months, he returned to his roots and played beach volleyball. He won 46 titles on the AVP tour and over a million dollars. All of that and more led him to be inducted into the California Beach Volleyball Association Hall of Fame in 2000. In the same year, he was selected for the All-Century first team by Volleyball Magazine.
