Russell has worked at Owen & Engine for about 18 months since the restaurant resumed operations after the pandemic.
He was one of the first employees to join the team and soon became the key to the restaurant’s success.
The young man was recognized for his professionalism, passion and kindness. He always went above and beyond to help the restaurant in whatever role was needed.
He also had a great relationship with the customers, who appreciated his friendly attitude, his experience and his suggestions.

What happened to Marshall Russell?
On Sunday, July 16, 2023, Russell was about to leave the California Clipper, a bar in Humboldt Park, Chicago, around 2 a.m. when he was confronted by a group of robbers who tried to rob him.

A fight broke out and one of the robbers shot Russell multiple times, seriously wounding him. Marshall was taken to Stroger Hospital, but was unable to survive and was pronounced dead.
