In 1995, Christopher Myers and Joanne Chang met while working at the Rialto in Cambridge. Christopher was the co-owner of the business and Joanne worked as a pastry chef. “We hit it off right away,” Joanne said.
But the time was not right for their romance to blossom. They both worked incredibly long hours and each had other relationships, from time to time. However, they did go out sometimes, and Joanne gradually began to wish they were more than friends.
A year later, Joanne left the restaurant, but they kept in touch.
Finally, in 2003, while they were on the bench outside, Joanne said, “Christopher, I like you!” Christopher replied without hesitation, “Chang, I like you too.” And the rest is history.
Joanne then moved into her apartment in Boston’s Leather District with Christopher in 2005. Three years later, the two became engaged, marrying in 2009.
The couple recently celebrated their 15th anniversary at midnight under the Eiffel Tower.

Later, Christopher met Joanne Chang and once again planned to leave the restaurant nightlife. But one night, Joanne cooked a dinner inspired by her mother’s Taiwanese cuisine, and Christopher loved it. They immediately decided to open a restaurant that offers a fresh and personal style of Asian cuisine. Thus Myers + Chang was born. The restaurant became so popular that they even sold merchandise such as hats and t-shirts.
Christopher has been featured in various magazines including Time, Business Week, The Boston Globe, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Playboy, and many others. He also appeared on TV shows like Unique Sweets (2011) and Unique Eats (2011).
