Comedian Oga Sabinus Sues Peak Milk And Gala For Using His Slogan For Ad

Oga Sabinus aka Mr Funny takes aim at Peak Milk and Gala for using the catchphrase “Something silly” and “investor vibe” image in the ad.

The Rivers-born comedian, who rose to fame for his use of Asari’s Docubo speech in 2016 and won the 2022 Best Content Creator Award, filed the suit in a Lagos court. He certainly isn’t the first comedian to sue a brand, but the way he does it is amusing to many.

He claimed his intellectual property was infringed in the lawsuit. The popular phrase, according to his lawyer, is protected.

As a result, he charges Peak Milk N1billion for the use of his trademark phrase “something hooge”.

He also sued Gala for N100 million for using a cartoon image of his “investor vibes” without his permission.

Several people took to social media to call out Ogo Sabinus, whose real name is ChukwuEmeka Emmanuel, accusing him of also using Asari Docuba’s speech for his parody.

Peak Milk and Gala have yet to respond to the lawsuit at press time.
