Only Île-de-France is still concerned

Only Île-de-France still experiences mortality “slightly better than that of previous years,” explains Insee.

However, this decline in deaths is more noticeable in those that occur in a hospital or clinic (-8% compared to 2019). Deaths that occurred in May in retirement homes or at home are still more numerous than last year (+5 and +7 percent, respectively).

However, since March, mortality remains high with 178,706 deaths occurring between March 1 and June 1, 16% more than 2019 (+25,200 deaths) and 12% more than 2018 (+18 500 deaths).
