Ogun State, Nigeria (NEWSTARS Education.com) Controversial singer popularly known as Portable, Habeeb Okikiola, appeared before an Ogun State magistrates court in Ifa on Monday after being arrested at the police headquarters on Friday for ignoring numerous calls.

He was released on bail by the court, although he faces multiple charges, including intentionally injuring someone and resisting arrest.

Portable has pleaded not guilty to all charges against him. Part of the charges read: “On March 28, 2023 at 11:00 am at Odogwu Bar, Oke-Osa, Ilogbo, Ifo, in the Ifo judicial district, Portable intentionally caused or caused physical injury to an inspector Hammed Moshood by poking him in the nose, causing blood to flow from his nose.” This is an offense punishable under Section 4(1) of the Prohibition and Violence Against Persons Act of Ogun State, Nigeria, 2017.

Inspector Hammed Moshood, ASP Gregory Iyoha and ASP Kunle Badmus also said that Portable tried to evade arrest after receiving a letter from the police on January 20, 2023.

Section 197 of the Nigerian Ogun State Penal Code, 2006 says it is illegal and punishable.

The singer also faces accusations that he assaulted one of his children. In all, Portable has more than six charges to deal with, including a separate incident involving the beating of a man in Otta who made a claim to CP Ogun.

There are several cases of assaults and assaults on him that are still being investigated because people have complained.

While the legal process is ongoing, a magistrate’s court in Ogun State has granted Portable the bail. The singer’s career and reputation in the community will depend on the outcome of these investigations and trials.
