Meet Creighton Waters, the prosecutor in the Alex Murdaugh trial
Creighton was the lead prosecutor in the Alex Murdaugh trial. Since Alex Murdaugh first testified at the trial on February 23, 2023, Creighton has come under fire everywhere about his “weird” tactics during cross-examination. He was even criticized by lexicographer and legal scholar Bryan A. Garner for focusing on Alex’s previous alleged financial crimes rather than the details of the murder in an apparent attempt to discredit the suspect.
Additionally, television writer Rae Sanni said that Creighton’s fixation on the issues was not directly related to the murders.

Samuel turned 79 in February 2023.
According to his friends, Creighton inherited his strong moral compass from his father and from his father’s best friends, who were also public servants. They also mentioned that Creighton was different from other kids his age.
