Netflix’s The Last Bus premiered on April 1, 2022, and featured a group of college students surviving a full-blown apocalypse, while robots designed to clean up the environment begin to vaporize humans as well.
Daniel’s character “Tom” was one of those survivors who made his way onto a beat-up old school bus where the other students were imprisoned. So, banding together, a group of students (who are also super smart) come up with a plan: strike back, while also realizing the reason for the robot’s intervention.
Initially, this group of schoolchildren is on a field trip to see the launch of “genie orbs”, a different type of robot created by tech billionaire Dalton Monkhouse (Robert Sheehan) to clean up the environment. But as soon as the robots activated, they vaporized everyone in the audience except for these students who luckily made it back to their school bus.
Furthermore, similar incidents seemed to be occurring all over the world.
So the kids set off on a journey in their old school bus to find Dalton Monkhouse, hoping he might have some answers.
It was Dalton who created the “Genie Orbs” (robots), which are millions of autonomous drones powered by artificial intelligence with the ability to reconstitute matter at the molecular level. Furthermore, robots have been given the ability to learn, evolve and perform at their best to improve the entire ecosystem.
Daniel was joined this season by his co-stars: Tom Basde, Robert Sheehan, Curtis Kantsa, Lauryn Ajufo, Lara McDonnell, Carys John, Nathanael Saleh, Moosa Mostafa, Marlie Morrelle and Phoebe De Silva.
Daniel Frogson’s career
Daniel Frogson began his acting career in 2018, playing “Joe” in the TV miniseries Joe All Alone. The series was adapted from the Joanna Nadin bestseller, where a 13-year-old boy (Joe) is left behind by his mother and his awkward boyfriend when they go away for a week.
In the same year, Daniel starred in Andrew Hulme’s drama The Devil Outside. He played the role of “Marcus”, an evangelical Christian teenager who begins to question his beliefs when he is caught between the influence of his mother and a rebellious new friend at school.
The following year, Daniel burst into the international spotlight with his unusual portrayal of “Tony Costa” in the second season of His Dark Materials. His character, Tony, was a gypsy who headed north with the rest of the western gypsies to rescue children captured by the Gobblers.
Also, just before his mission, Tony went to rescue Lyra Belacqua (Dakota Blue Richards, the lead) when she was attacked by Turkish merchants. Tony’s demon, Lyuba, later established herself as a hawk, and his mother gave her a ring and welcomed her into manhood.
