Netflix’s Outlast, which premiered on the OTT platform on Friday, March 10, features 16 survivors dumped in the Alaskan wilderness, with one of them getting a chance at $1 million in cash. Dawn Nelson was one of the contestants on Netflix’s Outlast.

Even when Dawn came of age, peace was almost absent from her life. During her pregnancy, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and, while working at the Center for Air Altitude Correction, Dawn suffered a serious injury that left her right arm numb.
Dawn pre-registered with Survivor. However, when her application failed, one of her friends advised her to try ‘Outlast’. Fortunately, Zora was selected for the show. Before filming the series, Dawn was asked the question “Why do you think you can survive in Alaska?” Her response was: “I never cared about the surviving party. It was a social part. I knew if someone made me angry, I would bait them for bears.”
On the Netflix show, Dawn was on Team Delta, which consisted of Joel, Jordan, and Paul. She and Joel became aware of the reality of natural disasters when they saw how hunger and cold turned other contestants into savages.
However, Dawn rose to the challenges, even earning her praise from the show’s executive producer, Grant Kahler. He said: “Although all the competitors had to have ‘basic level of outdoor skills’, Nelson proved to be exceptional.
