Yes, YouTuber and gamer Mustard Plays is indeed the brother of Donald Mustard.
In a March 2021 YouTube video, Mustard Plays answered the question he gets asked a lot, which is if he’s Donald’s brother. The video he made contained pictures of the two of them together from when they were children, as well as when they were adults.
Another question he gets asked a lot is does “Donald tell him secret stuff about Fortnite?”
Mustard Plays replied, “Sometimes.” He added that Donald trusts him enough not to reveal any information about the game, so he sometimes shares a few details.

He is the founder of Chair Entertainment Group, LLC, an American video game company based in Salt Lake City, Utah, as well as the Chief Creative Officer of Epic Games and Loremaster of Fortnite until 2023.
Donald ran a successful studio that demonstrated the capabilities of the Xbox and iPhone. Then, thanks to Fortnite’s expansive metaverse, he became the face of one of the biggest and riskiest storytelling experiments in history. In September 2023, Donald tweeted: “After an incredible adventure, I will be stepping down from my role as Chief Creative Officer at Epic this month. I’ve enjoyed almost 25 years in the games industry working with some of the most talented people ever and I’m very proud of what we’ve done together. From the ambitious Advent Rising to the start of ChAIR where we created Undertow, Shadow Complex and the Infinity Blade trilogy, to the honor of our tiny team becoming part of Epic, each new chapter has allowed me to achieve something new and original. I’m especially proud of the opportunity I’ve had to help create and shape Fortnite.”
He concluded, “I’m humbled to be part of a team that tries to bring ‘joy and enjoyment’ to the Fortnite community every day! We love watching you experience every moment – jumping out of the Battle Bus for the first time, watching a rocket open up the sky, dancing with your friends after a Victory Royale, being sucked into a black hole or flipped by the sea like an Island – and so on! I can’t wait to now participate in the future of Fortnite as a player with all of you! The teams are in the best hands and are working on huge, amazing things!!!”
Donald Mustard’s family
Donald Mustard is the son of Donald Mustard Sr. and Claire Mustard. Claire is 68 and Donald Sr. is 69 as of 2023.
Donald also has a brother named Geremy Mustard. He also works for Chair Entertainment and Epic Games. He attended Cypress Creek High School and Brigham Young University.
Donald’s grandparents are George Arthur Mustard and Margaret Mustard.
George attended a one-room country school through the eighth grade and then Clinton High School. In early 1944 he joined the Canadian Navy and served aboard ship in the South Pacific until the end of the war. He was discharged in December 1945 and enrolled at the University of Western Ontario in London in January 1949.
At university, George met his wife Margaret Steele from Rodney, Ontario. They were married on November 5, 1949. They moved to Calgary, Alberta, where George got a job as a drilling geologist with the Marathon Oil Company. He worked for Marathon for 34 years in several different research and management positions in Calgary, Alberta; Findley, Ohio; Brisbane, Australia; and London, England.
George and Margaret retired in June 1984 and returned to their home in Calgary. Five years later, they moved to Denver to be near their two oldest sons and family. In April 1995 they moved to Lynden, Washington to be closer to their son and daughter and families in Vancouver, BC
In addition to Donald’s father Donald Sr., George and Margaret also had Robert (Monique) of Florida, Peter of British Columbia and Jean (Casey) of British Columbia.
Wife of Donald Mustard
Donald Mustard is married to his wife Laura Mustard. The couple has been happily married since August 31, 2006.
In April 2021, Donald shared about his wife: “My partner in all things and the love of my life. Since my first game project (where we met), Laura inspires me and pushes me to always do more, reach more and make things happen. From working together to raising our family, I love being able to do it all with my best friend.”
On their 2022 anniversary, Laura posted on her IG, “Happy anniversary to my husband mon cheri @thedonaldmustard. Excited to return to one of our favorite places. ❤️.”
Laura works as a publicist. She was the former Director of Marketing at Chair Entertainment from 2006 to 2019. She also worked at HighWater Group and Epic Games.
Laura came from Medford, New York and lives in Salt Lake City, Utah.
