Elizabeth Shamblin Hannah was born to parents Gwen Shamblin and David Shamblin. She was one of two children (the other being Michael) blessed by Gwen’s first marriage.
Unfortunately, though his parents were involved in Remnant Fellowship, according to a church member, David “definitely didn’t stand for everything that Gwen said was right and strict.” So the two eventually broke up, and Gwen fell for actor Joe Lara, known for his role as Tarzan on the 1990s TV series.
So, Elizabeth’s parents divorced, and Gwen married Joe in 2018.
At that time, Joe already had a child – a daughter – with his ex-girlfriend Natasha Pavlovich, an actress from The Way Down.
Sadly, Elizabeth’s mother, Joe, her husband, and four other church members were killed in a private plane crash on May 29, 2021. The group of seven was flying a Cessna Citation 501 from Smyrna Airport in Tennessee to Palm Beach, Florida when it crashed into Percy Priest Lake.
Elizabeth’s stepfather Joe, who had little experience as an airplane pilot, was reportedly piloting the plane at the time. However, the exact cause of the accident was unknown.

“It was an incredible honor and joy to be his wife. Brandon’s every moment was filled with seeking God’s will and sharing the Truth we learned daily about putting God first in our lives,” Elizabeth recalled.
Additionally, Elizabeth described him as “one of the most selfless and loving husbands and fathers on the planet” who put God first.
