UHY Haines Norton enthusiastically welcomed the appointment of Emma Simpson as the new director.
Emma has been working in the accounting field for 25 years, of which nearly 16 years she has been a certified public accountant. When she first started her career, she decided that accounting was the best career for her. She explains that accounting for her involves gathering all the ingredients and putting them together to create something meaningful. Her father, Richard Benjamin, is a famous CPA who runs RL Benjamin in the North Shore. Occupation is also part of family.
After five years working abroad in London and Glasgow, Emma joined her father’s business in 2002. Emma continues her father Richard’s legacy after his death in 2016 by managing and developed the company with the help of John Ballard, the former director of UHY and her father’s close friend. Emma added: ‘John stepped in and encouraged me to see my GP and continue exercising after my father’s sudden death.
Emma admits it’s been difficult for RL Benjamin to leave, but believes the timing couldn’t be more ideal. “The amount and complexity of compliance imposed on businesses – especially SMEs – has increased enormously over the past few years,” she said.
“My clients would greatly benefit from the support of a reputable and successful company like UHY Haines Norton.” Emma is delighted to be joining the company as the newest director and board member due to her longstanding relationship with UHY and similar career ideals. She claims that joining UHY is a great opportunity for both her and her clients.
