Everything we know about Project Magnum

One of our favorite things is when a new IP comes out of nowhere with a surprise announcement. This is exactly how this new game works, for now simply known as Project Magnum, it was discovered. Without warning, this new trailer introduced us to the basics of this upcoming title from Korean developer NAT Games, which has been around since 2013. However, this is their first big-budget console offering. Based on this brief trailer, many high expectations have already been set for this game that does not have an official title yet.

Despite the fast forward, there’s a lot we could agree on. Project Magnum. There’s still a lot shrouded in mystery and a lot more that likely remains undecided for a game that’s likely still in the early stages of development, but there are enough clues to at least make an educated guess as to what this exciting new game will be. If that short trailer caught your eye, here’s everything we know about it—and a few guesses. Magnum project.

It’s probably not a surprise, but project magnum, which doesn’t even have an official title, hasn’t been given a release date. We don’t even expect to hear about a possible release window for quite some time, probably not until next year. However, from the looks of it, we may see it arriving in early 2023 or so. could be at the end of 2022, but not before.

platforms

The trailer itself was posted on the official PlayStation YouTube channel, and the footage shown is marked as being made on PS5, so we can easily conclude that this game is coming to at least that platform. Digging a bit deeper, we also found the official description stating that the game is a “PC/Console based game” as well as the full title trailer mentioning both PS4 and PS5. So overall, that makes it a PS4, PS5, and PC exclusive title. It remains to be seen if it will be a permanent exclusive or if it will eventually come to other platforms, such as Xbox.

The trailer we have Project Magnum it’s almost entirely a game or was meant to be, with a few instances of cutscenes peppered here and there. There is no speech, text or anything to really give you an idea of what the story will be like in this game. However, paying close attention gives us some clues about the world in which we will live.

First, we know that this world will have a combination of weapons, monsters, and some otherworldly attacking threat. The giant sphere in the sky seems to play a big part in this. The setting is lush and wild, but there are also scenes of destroyed but modern civilizations, making us believe that this will happen on an Earth-like planet, but not on Earth itself.

Enemies range from robotic enemies reminiscent of the Sentinels from the Matrix movies, giant armored tank-like robots, as well as humanoid enemies. Technology seems to be at the heart of this game, with humans and unknown enemies having advanced upgrades, such as a well-rendered grappling device. About who we play, why exactly we are fighting these sci-fi creatures, where they come from and why everything remains hidden. Hopefully, a future story trailer will give more context to the incredible action on display.

Playing

Speaking of action, that’s what we use the most in this reveal. For starters, the description helps to contextualize the entire trailer:

“Project Magnum features beautiful visuals and compelling, unique characters based on a sci-fi-style player vs. environment view of the world. It also offers exciting battles using a variety of skills, actions, and weapons, as well as the fun of high-quality PvE shooter battles targeting big bosses.”

From that, plus the recordings, we can get an outline of what Project Magnum be. Many are already comparing it to other similar ones. destiny 2 and other robbers who shoot, but the robbery aspect was not shown or talked about. On the other hand, we agree with the comparisons that it looks like it will feature large areas, or maybe a giant open world, where you can dynamically engage in giant battles with your teammates. There also seems to be multiple types of armor with some flashy designs, again suggesting a possible loot system but not confirming it.

As for how exactly you’ll fight these robotic, alien, or some kind of hybrid enemies, we know that weapons will be a major focus. From a third-person perspective, we saw machine guns, pistols, rifles, and even rocket launcher weapons on display. Melee combat also appears to be an option, with one character wielding a massive hammer as he charges at a group of enemies equipped with metal shields.

The abilities mentioned could be related to technology we’ve seen displayed in various forms, but it could also be a whole new system yet to be discovered. However, the grappling hook was one of the most prominent tools in the trailer, allowing for quick movement and combat use.

more players

Four soldiers run across the bridge.

While there’s technically no confirmation, all signs point to this game at least having a co-op capability of some capacity. The trailer shows multiple examples of teams of human characters working together, fighting enemies, and traveling through the environment. While they may just be AI companions, the way they move and playstyle Project Magnum It seems to tend to indicate that a strong multiplayer aspect will be included.

It is interesting to wonder how it will work. Yeah Project Magnum is, as many believe, to take signals from destiny 2Will it also be a semi-MMO style game where other players automatically populate your world? Or will you be more closed off, needing to actively group up with friends or open up your game to other players? The trailer’s description text also specifically mentions player vs environment twice, but never PvP. It may not end up being something that the game includes, so perhaps it’s comparable to a game like this. escorts.

downloadable content

There is no information on any DLC plans for Project Magnum, which would certainly be putting the cart before the horse. However if this is meant to be a heist shooter style game and more to come destination 2′with shoes that Outrider’s, then we can expect expansions of some kind that will keep people looting for the long haul. This is pure speculation though, so we’ll be watching this game play out as we see.

Pre-registration

We don’t even know the name of this game yet, so pre-orders must be a long way off. We don’t think they’ll move forward on this until a release date is set, which again we don’t expect before next year. Stay tuned here when this info drops and we’ll show you where to pre-order Project Magnum and describe in detail all the different editions that exist.
