Everything you should do in Destiny 2 before the Forsaken campaign is vaulted

Fate 2 will experience its next major transformation when The Witch Queen finally arrives on February 22nd. However, this new content comes with a catch as older content is being moved to the Destiny Content Vault to make room for what’s new. There is still time to play this content and collect loot that may soon be hard to find. Here’s everything you need to do first The witch queen coming.

Story

A significant amount of story has been removed with the upcoming update and, unlike weapons, it’s unlikely to be readily available anytime soon. We highly recommend players interested in the grand story of Destiny to start here.

Left behind

The whole Left behind the campaign is leaving soon. This is by far the biggest part of the Destiny story going, and it’s the main tone for most of what you currently see in the Fate 2. The entire Forsaken faction, Tangled Shore, Spider and the fate of Cayde-6 are part of this release. The good news is that this campaign is currently free. Most players should be able to complete it in 6 to 8 hours, which is well worth the investment of playing time.

Hunting season

The hunting season started with Beyond the light expansion. It is also the origin story of the Crow, a key character in the present Fate 2 Season. Your job is to hunt down the Wrathborn, an army of hives and fallen under the command of the hive god. This is the first domino to fall leading to Hiva’s upcoming heavy expansion.

The season of the chosen ones

Fate 2 began with the story of a cabal invasion of Earth, culminating in an attack on Calus, the cabal emperor. Season of the Chosen acts as a bridge between that time period and current events Fate 2. Caiatl, the Cabal empress daughter of Calus, came to Earth to forge an alliance against the encroaching darkness. She demands loyalty in exchange for her partnership, leading to conflict. This introduced HELM, a new public space and mission hub, and Battlegrounds, a series of three-player battles against the Cabal to assert dominance in this uneasy partnership.

Paperclip season

Season of the Splicer continues the theme of old enemies becoming allies, as a splinter group of humanity-friendly Fallen may hold the key to stopping the Vex simulation from plunging the world into endless night. It is one of the most interesting stories in Fate 2, directly confronting problems such as xenophobia. A new six-player matchup activity called Override has been introduced, as well as three-person Expunge missions. This also marked the return of the Vault of Glass raid, which will (thankfully) still be available.

The season of the lost

Season of the Lost is the last season of the series Beyond the light expansion. It marks the return of Mara Sov, Queen of the Awakened, and the official introduction of Savathûn, the titular Witch Queen of the upcoming expansion. This is the official introduction to the next big campaign. It introduced the Shattered Realms missions and the six-player Offensive: Astral Alignment activity. In many ways, this is a prelude to the next big step forward in Destiny.

Weapon

The weapons themselves aren’t actually stored, and Bungie has largely abandoned its item drop policy. However, the way some weapons are obtained will disappear and there is no guarantee that they will be available anytime soon. Better to play it safe and grab this weapon now.

Hawkmoon

Hawkmoon is an exotic Hand Cannon and has been around since the beginning of the Destiny franchise. Accurate hits and finish shots power up the last bullet in the magazine, and superior handling makes this rifle a PVP favorite. Visit the Spider on the Tangled Coast and collect the As the Crow Flies mission. This will set you on the path to unlocking the Harbinger mission, which rewards Hawkmoon. As an added bonus, you can replay Harbinger to try to earn better secondary weapon perks. It’s the perfect opportunity to chase your ideal Hand Cannon.

A dead man’s story

Dead Man’s Tale is an old-fashioned lever action shotgun, perfect if your guardian has a bit of the old western cowboy in him. This ancient firearm has a perk called Cranial Spike. Precision Landing Strikes add bursts that increase damage while reducing charge speeds. Skillful gameplay turns this easy-to-use precision rifle into a solid DPS machine. Run the arms dealer raid from the director and clear the first room of enemies. Don’t hack the computer right away, instead stick to the right and go through the door. You will find some additional enemies and a help signal. Once you get the signal, go to Zavala in the Tower and he will send you on a Presage mission. A Dead Man’s Tale is the reward for completing this mission, and, much like Harbinger and Hawkmoon, this can be reworked to earn different weapon perks.

Lord of the wolves

One of the more unique weapons in Destiny 2 is the Lord of Wolves. It’s a shotgun, but instead of firing single bursts, it fires a burst of high-powered shells. It is effective at a surprisingly long range and works well in PVP or PVE. This gun is earned by completing bounties for Spider, Tangled Shore’s resident crime boss. It’s a random drop, so it’s best to visit Spider regularly and keep completing his rewards until the RNG gods smile upon you.

How to spend time differently

Prismatic Recaster allows you to determine what types of items will drop from engrams and gives you influence over the stats of the armor you decipher. Unfortunately, he leaves along with the rest of HELM. A replacement has not been identified, so for now you should assume that your best option to control rolls on gear will be gone soon. Keep collecting Umbral Engrams and use Recaster to find your best weapons and gear.

The Pathfinder's Compass offers mods that can be purchased.Image used with permission of the copyright holder

Ethereal Spiral is a destination material for Tangled Shore and will be gone soon. One of Spider’s functions is to exchange materials. Now would be a great time to convert all of your ethereal spiral into another material or glitter. Spider regularly changes the materials he will change, so if he doesn’t take Etheric Spiral one week, be sure to check back the next.

Upgrading Wayfinder’s Compass, Splicer Servitor and War Table to HELM will give you the option to purchase unique mods. Keep completing victories for the Seasons associated with those devices to increase your rank and grab these mods while you can. It’s unknown if a way to get these mods will be added later, so don’t get them while you can.
