American-British internet star Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan were arrested this week as part of a human trafficking investigation.
On December 28, 2022, a search was carried out at the former kickboxer’s house in Bucharest, the capital of Romania.
Since the two brothers were arrested, several videos of their release have surfaced online.

The claim has been widely circulated in similar ways on Facebook, TikTok and Instagram.
However, it was not published. Fox News, other news outlets or law enforcement have not published reports on Andrew Tate’s release.
Prosecutors in Romania announced on December 29 that Tristan and Andrew Tate would be held for at least 24 hours on charges of abuse, human trafficking and attempted gang organization. Law enforcement agencies say they consider it most likely:
- “He appears to have created an organized crime group for the purpose of recruiting, harboring and exploiting women by forcing them to create pornographic content intended for viewing on specialized websites for a fee.”
Tate is still in police custody but could be released if found not guilty.
Investigations into Andrew Tate and his brother were reportedly launched in April this year in response to allegations that the couple held two women against their will.
