Discovery Channel’s Bering Sea Gold returns for its fifteenth installment on December 6, 2022, as do its returning stars to branch out and engage in an epic battle for dominance in Nome. Among them, George is the youngest of ten children, who followed his older brother Dave and became a miner in the Bering Sea.
Now at Bering Sea Gold, he is his brother’s eyes and ears on the ground whenever Dave is out of town.
However, his story is not that simple. In 2001, George was in an accident with a pickup truck that left him paralyzed. Fortunately, through grueling therapy, he was able to recover and one day his brother Dave Young asked him if he was interested in working with him on the water. The rest is history.
According to George, he agreed to help his brother because he loves adventures. “That’s all I do. I was in between jobs at the time, really doing nothing. My brother has a gold dredge and he wanted to know if I wanted to go to the Bering Sea and work on it. I did it because I know to go down and dive Digging for gold at the bottom of the Bering Sea would be an adventure I would be prepared for,” he explained.
Also, George seems to have owned his brother “a ton of money” at the time. So, “I went up and did it,” he added.

George Young has amassed a net worth of $150k by 2023, all thanks to his time as a gold miner in Nome, Alaska. He may be relatively shorter compared to his co-stars because he joined the series late and had to pay a lot of debts.

When George isn’t working, he likes to ski. He loves it so much that he was even on the Aspen ski team. “I like to sit and ski. It’s extreme skiing, quite dangerous. According to George, their son Cameron is “caring, loving and honest.” He wants her to have “a life filled with love, peace, joy, happiness, confidence, success, balance, and contentment.”
As for Landen, George didn’t have much to say about him. All we know is that Landene graduated from CM Russell High School and Montana State University – Great Falls and is married to Lauren Young of O’Fallon, Missouri.
