Google Doodle celebrates the opening day of the ODI World Cup 2023. Here’s everything you need to know.

Today’s Google Doodle (October 5) celebrates the start of one of the most anticipated sporting tournaments in the world, the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023. The tournament is scheduled to be held in India from October 5 to November 19, 2023, bringing together the best cricketers nations from around the world to compete for the coveted championship title and trophy.

In this World Cup, 10 teams will participate in doubles and knockout format. The tournament will begin today at 2:00 PM at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad with the opening match between reigning champions England and New Zealand.

The 2023 World Cup marks the 13th edition of the cricket tournament, which began in 1975. The ten teams competing in this tournament will compete against each other at least once over a span of 45 group stage matches. Out of the ten, only four teams will advance to the knockout round, which will include two semi-finals and a final in Ahmedabad.
