Guinness World Record for Longest Pumpkin Bowl Trip Broken by Missouri Man!

A skilled pumpkin grower, Travis Gienger has a habit of earning not one but more accolades for his colossal pumpkins. As of 2020, the man has achieved three World Pumpkin Weighing Championships. After conquering such great heights, the man has now set a brand new world record this year for the heaviest pumpkin, weighing in at 2,749 pounds.

The pumpkin was named “Michael Jordan”. At the annual championships this week in Half Moon Bay, California, the pumpkin took home the crown, Minnesota Public Radio’s Heidi Raschke reported. The weight of the pumpkin was enough to beat last year’s champion. Last year’s record was also set by Gienger’s own 2,560 pounds. Last year, he set a new North American record that later became known as the largest lamp in the world.

Gienger expressed his joy by saying, “I didn’t expect that. It was a real feeling.” The man is a horticulture teacher at the Technical Faculty of Anoka and is 43 years old. The man has been in love with pumpkins since he was young, and has been growing them since he was a teenager. His father was also someone who loved to grow plants.

Where does a man grow his pumpkins? Well, Gienger grows large pumpkins in his own backyard, “out in Minnesota, with all the weather, storms and all,” as the man put it.

Speaking about the ways in which he achieved the feat in 2023, he said: “I just improved on what I was doing before and used better fertilizer and biology.” Man also made a new kind of seed this time. The seed is known as 2365 Wolf. The seeds are popular because they grow into huge gourds.

The naming of the top round pumpkin that won this year’s award was done when the pumpkin was only 10 days old. However, as the pumpkin grew, its shape changed. A total of 687 pies could be produced by a giant pumpkin.

“I put in the work to put a smile on people’s faces and it’s so nice to come here and see everything in this city,” the man says.
