In April 2023, Harley Hunt testified in her trial for the murder of her mother, Letecia Stauch, charged with first-degree murder, and 12 other counts related to the death of her stepson, Gannon Stauch. Her mother is accused of killing her stepson in Colorado, putting his body in a coffin, and dumping it off a bridge in Florida on February 4, 2020.

Looking back on that day, Harley shared: “[Letecia] He said that she asked him to come home around 5 or 6 and go eat sushi. When she passed the time and he didn’t come back, she said, I guess she didn’t want to eat sushi. And then after that, we started looking for him.”

She said her mother seemed “concerned” and they drove to Gannon’s friend’s house together only to discover he wasn’t there. After that, the two left the country on a trip in a white van rented by her mother. “Fate changed several times. I remember she kept saying, ‘Where do you want to live?'” she described herself.

Prosecutor Dave Young then asked him if he noticed anything unusual or smelled anything in the back of the truck. Acknowledging what the lawyers were asking, that if he smelled Gannon’s body in the coffin while he was on his way, he replied: “That thought just didn’t cross my mind, I just didn’t think my mother would do that. I didn’t even question it, it just never came up.”

He also later denied helping his mother “throw that suitcase off the bridge in Pensacola, Florida.”

Harley last saw her mother in March 2020 on the day of her arrest, a month after the tragic night.

His father, Chance, was born on August 1, 1980 in Baltimore, MD. He was the son of the late Tammy Lamb Chavis and Claudia Mack Hunt.

Now, for those of you confused, Letecia Stauch is Harley’s stepmother. Her biological mother married Al Stauch (Gannon’s father) and Al later married Letecia.
