Hatch Restore has long been considered one of the best sleep aids. But with the release of Hatch Restore 2 on March 14, it’s looking to replace its big brother and hit your nightstand.
It’s not cheap, though, at $200, so you’ll want to do your homework before picking one up. Here’s a detailed comparison of Hatch Restore and Hatch Restore 2, which should help you decide if it’s worth buying (or upgrading your existing Hatch Restore).
Shape
One of the most obvious improvements in Hatch Restore 2 is its appearance. Instead of a two-tone design with soft mesh fabric and a white ceiling light, the entire fixture is now covered in natural linen fibers. Hatch says this gives it a “relaxing design” and most buyers should find it a massive upgrade to an existing unit. Hardware

Are Hatch Restore 2 updates worth it?
If you currently own Hatch Restore and are happy with its performance, it may not be necessary to shell out $200 for Hatch Restore 2. However, if you’ve found that you’re starting to encounter its limitations (and could use the new features listed above), then upgrade to Restore 2 smart move.
If you don’t own Restore or another smart alarm, Restore 2 is highly recommended. Not only does it look great on your nightstand, but its impressive list of features makes it easy to wind down after a long day and wake up refreshed each morning.
Be sure to consider all the other alarm clocks on the market before making your decision, but there’s no question that the Restore 2 should be at the top of your shopping list.
