Here’s What Don Jazzy Said On The Corruption In The NDDC

Nigerian record label mogul Don Jazzy has shared his thoughts on alleged corruption at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

Recall that the Senate and the House of Representatives have decided to investigate the IMC of the Niger Delta Development Commission for the alleged corruption of N40b (NDDC)

Don Jazzy THINKS ABOUT NDDC

He said: “I read this to learn about the Senate resolution on the back of the #NDDC probe in the National Assembly and many things come to mind. The birth of NDDC in 2000 during the regime of former President Obasanjo was supposed to correct the mistakes made under OMPADEC in the 1990s, but here we are, still digging the hole we found ourselves in after two decades.”

“Corruption has now become so endemic in our country that we are recklessly stealing huge public funds. We like to blame the elite and the government for the bad state of the country while many of us are waiting our turn to hold public office. and become thugs. To be clear, NDDC’s 20 years had many key players on the ground in the Niger Delta region who would supposedly understand the plight of the people.”

A great opportunity for this region to be a model for the entire nation was squandered by a few selfish people whose intent was to turn the heritage of Nigerians into their own wealth. We constantly talk about projects not implemented and abandoned by unidentified contractors that were not properly procured.”

“Are our consciences so impassive that we continue to walk this disastrous path even with rising levels of poverty and lack of infrastructure across the country? How would future generations of Nigerians feel when they read this story of utter rot? Ken Saro-Wiwa of blessed memory, lost his life for the cause of this region.”

“If the dead could see after they died, would you be proud of how things turned out? NDDC, with this massive financial recklessness over the years, is just one of many government agencies. I can’t imagine how surprised we would be if many other government agencies were seen this way. This is not only sad, but also very sad. My people, we have a long way to go.”
