Hogwarts Legacy Deluxe, Collector’s, & Standard Edition Differences

There is a Standard Edition, a Collector’s Edition, a Digital Deluxe Edition, and a Deluxe Edition of Hogwarts Legacy. All of these versions include access to the game, but the Collector’s Edition and both Deluxe Editions come with additional content for players to enjoy, both in-game and in the real world.

Originally, players who preordered either Hogwarts Legacy Deluxe Edition or the Collector’s Edition could enjoy a 72-hour early access period before the game officially launched, but just because Hogwarts Legacy is now available to everyone doesn’t mean those versions lost all value. The Deluxe Editions of Hogwarts Legacy come with a special Dark Arts pack which includes a number of new features, and Collector’s Edition owners get everything in the Deluxe version along with physical add-ons. See the official unboxing video from Hogwarts Legacy’s YouTube channel below:

Unfortunately, the Collector’s Edition of Hogwarts Legacy is not currently available for the Nintendo Switch, which is planned for release later this year.

Hogwarts Legacy’s Deluxe Edition, now that the 72-hour early access period is over, mainly provides players with access to The Dark Arts Pack. It costs $70 on Playstation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, and $80 on Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X. Hogwarts Legacy’s Dark Arts Pack contains:

Hogwarts Legacy Deluxe Edition

Thestral Mount

Dark Arts Cosmetic Set

Dark Arts Battle Arena

There is also a Hogwarts Legacy Digital Deluxe Edition, which includes everything the Deluxe Edition does as well as a Dark Arts Garrison Hat and a cross-gen digital upgrade for PlayStation and Xbox. Before the game launched, people who pre-ordered Hogwarts Legacy could have also received an Onyx Hippogriff and, if playing on PlayStation, the Felix Felicis Potion Recipe.

Both the Deluxe Edition and the Standard Edition of Hogwarts Legacy feature exclusive PlayStation content still available to players who purchase either Edition on PS5 in the form of a special Haunted Hogsmead Shop Quest. This mission is ONLY available to PlayStation versions of Hogwarts Legacy, but those with a little more money to burn, however, should look into the Collector’s Edition instead.

The Hogwarts Legacy Collector’s Edition is available for $289 on PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One, and $300 for Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. It features all the content available in both Digital Deluxe Editions and its own rewards, both physical and in-game. They are:

Unless players are actively interested in trying to be as evil as possible in Hogwarts Legacy, the Standard Edition is probably the best choice for anyone on a tight budget. Performing Unforgivable Curses in Hogwarts Legacy doesn’t ultimately lead to a different ending, and while new cosmetics and mounts are always enjoyable, more budget-conscious players might prefer to just settle with the base game.

However, if anyone is looking to decide which version of Hogwarts Legacy to buy, especially if they want their time with the game to last as long as possible and money isn’t really a problem, the Dark Arts Battle Area is pretty fun. One of the biggest selling points of the more expensive editions of Hogwarts Legacy was the early access period, but now players just need to figure out how deep they want to immerse themselves in the Wizarding World.
