Hosea Williams II died even before her parents on September 21, 1998. Her cause of death was revealed to be complications from a bone marrow transplant performed a month and a half earlier. He was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia in 1997. A family friend revealed that he had undergone a bone marrow transplant and that he had been doing well until about two weeks before his death.
