This is something we’ve been talking about for over seven months. This is one of the first things I want to talk about. We’re very lucky that Episode 4 is directed by Clare Kilner, who I think is one of the greatest directors on television today. What’s most important to me is that it doesn’t feel like another gratuitous, sweat-stained back sex scene, because it’s not like that at all. As anyone who’s ever had sex will tell you, sex isn’t all that great. It’s not something picturesque and amazing. It’s embarrassing, especially when you’re young. There’s an uncomfortable feeling one has to sit in, and requires a discovery and understanding of each other’s bodies—not to mention the practical aspects of the whole thing.
