Many companies, such as Google, Microsoft, LinkedIn, obviously provide their products for free for users to share their data when using them. This information is kept selling, namely that the ads are sold to the right target audience 92% of the time.
There are 4 simple steps you can take to prevent your data from being stolen and used:
HTTPS.
Just because a certain website uses HTTPS doesn’t mean everything you do on that site will be encrypted. Using HTTPS instead of HTTP ensures that your data is encrypted before transmission, making it more secure. You can install the HTTPS Everywhere extension for Chrome and Firefox so this always happens.

Use a VPN service
VPN is a collective name for technologies that allow you to use not your own but a fake location on the Internet. This way, you protect your information from prying eyes. If you use a virtual private network (VPN), your ISP will see encrypted traffic redirected to a specific IP address.
With a reliable VPN service, your ISP cannot determine where the traffic you are using is directed. However, when subscriber network traffic is compared with server traffic with timestamps, further monitoring can be performed if desired. But these purposes will require more complex, resource-intensive engineering solutions.
Use Tor to browse anonymously
Tor is a vast network of virtual tunnels that allows you to surf the Internet without leaving any trace. After downloading Tor, you will be redirected to a special browser called TorBrowser. This browser will give you a protected IP address that is not yours. With this browser you can use the Internet anonymously.
Unlike VPNs, where traffic is routed continuously to a server over an extended period of time, Tor automatically changes IP addresses. The provider can therefore determine that you are most likely using Tor, based on encrypted traffic and frequent address changes, which will be reflected in the profile.

What is private browsing and how can it protect you online?
Almost all modern browsers have an Incognito or InPrivate mode. The following data is not saved in this mode:

– cookies;

But there’s a small caveat – all of this is not directly saved to the browser’s own history. The “Incognito” mode is useful when you are permanently or temporarily sharing the same computer with other family members or friends.

– site owner.
Even if you use InPrivate mode, providers will see all your visits. They are the ones that give you the IP address and can connect it to the owner of the computer.
At work, your company’s system administrator can monitor your internet surfing. Often, companies specifically track visits to certain pages (social networks, instant messaging, etc.) so that employees don’t lose their work time. Remember, incognito mode is useless here. Special software allows you to quickly track which employees, when, for how long and on what resources.
Online privacy issues are much bigger than most people realize. While it may not be possible to remain completely hidden while online without actually disconnecting from the Internet, there are things you can do to make it harder for your ISP to track all your online activities.
