Use of system information

One of the easiest ways to see your PC’s specifications in Windows 11 is through the System Information app.

Step 1: Use the Windows search bar to search MSInfo.

Step 2: This will bring up a list that should display a link to the System Information app. Select it.

You’ll be able to see the version of Windows 11 you’re running, system model, processor, BIOS version, RAM, virtual memory, and more.

Step 3: On the screen that will pop up, you will have information about your CPU, memory, motherboard, etc. You can find more detailed information about USB ports, your network, sound device, display(s) and more by selecting the menu on the left.

Using HWInfo

If you want to view live information about your system, such as its power consumption, clock speed, or temperature, you need a third-party app. I really like HWInfo.

Step 1: Download HWInfo from the official website and install it like any other application.

Step 2: Launch the app and if you only want to see live information, select it Just the sensors. Otherwise, you can leave both boxes unchecked and get a full system summary and live sensor window.

Step 3: Select to view live information Sensors from the top menu. The window that will appear will contain a lot of information about your computer’s live statistics, such as the clock speed of each core, the power consumption of your graphics card and more. It’s extremely comprehensive, so it can be a bit overwhelming, but rest assured, it’s there if you want to learn something about your computer.

The main HWInfo window will give you detailed information about every component in your computer. Just select it to learn more.

Now that you know your computer’s specs, do you want to learn more about monitoring its temperatures? Here’s our guide to managing your CPU temperatures.
