How to free Brick in Cyberpunk 2077

There are several key moments in which your actions take part Cyberpunk 2077 ripples throughout the game world and one of those moments occurs early on. In the first act of The Pickup mission, V and Jackie will encounter the new leader of the Maelstrom group, Royce. Royce will reveal to you that Brick, the former gang leader who made a deal with Dexter DeShawn, is dead. He, however, did not. Brick is actually locked in the All Foods factory where this meeting is taking place, and in this guide we’ll show you how to free Brick.

Half the battle is actually finding Brick in The Pickup, but once you do, freeing him is easy. You don’t know I have to a free brick, but the optional objective will help you later in the second conflict side mission.

How to find Brick in The Pickup game

You will find Brick during the main mission, The Pickup, but only if you do your best. The “free brick” optional objective only appears if you get close enough to the area where the brick is being held, so you’ll have to pay attention.

Progress in The Pickup until you reach the All Foods building and sit in a meeting with Royce. Once things go awry, you’ll have a level-spanning fight, with Brick’s cage hidden amidst the chaos.

After dealing with the enemies in the meeting area, you’ll follow Jackie through the maintenance tunnel into a larger room. Deal with a few enemies here and push forward. The next room is smaller, with two elevated rooms on the left. Again, deal with the enemies in this room and disable the cameras. This will give you some breathing room so the enemies from the next room don’t rush in while you’re trying to free Brick.

You can also just sneak your way through these rooms, but be careful what quick hacks you use. You will need spare RAM later.

Between the two elevated rooms is Brick’s cell. Go past it and you’ll hear Brick on the other side, as well as an optional objective to free Brick. Fortunately, finding Brick is the hardest part of this objective.

Cyberpunk 2077 Brick: Room Code or Hack

Once you find Brick, there are two ways to free him. The first is to simply scan the keypad in front of the locked door and disable it for some RAM. Even this early in the game, you’ll be able to disable the keyboard with your hacking skills.

Alternatively, you can follow up with the Brick room code. In the elevated room to Brick’s right, you’ll find a sealed laptop and a detonator. Ignore the detonator for now (we’ll come back to it soon) and open the laptop. choose Messages and find the bottom one labeled “Only you know.” Inside you will find a code. Brick room code is 9691.

Open the door however you want, but don’t run into the room yet. Brick will show a large laser pointed at the center of his chest. If it moves, it will die. If you’d rather kill Brick, go back to the room on the right and interact with the detonator. We won’t judge. This is a role-playing game after all.

There’s more incentive to free Brick from his captivity, though, and that’s simple. Scan the laser and deactivate it, and you’re good to go. You can also deactivate the detonator in the raised room if you want. Brick will express his gratitude, and you can reply that he owes you. Be sure to do this as it will change the side quest you can complete later.

Second quest in conflict

Once you find Brick, you can either kill him or free him, both of which have rewards. If you scan Brick, you’ll see that the NCPD has a reward for him of 5000 vortices. While it’s not much later, 5000 vortices goes a long way in the first act.

If you free Brick, he will later join you in the side mission of the second conflict. Similarly, Royce and Dum Dum will spawn if you don’t kill them during The Pickup. Especially if you decide to let Royce and Dum Dum live, having Brick with you for the Second Clash is essential. He does better with Maelstrom members, and you’ll have more dialogue options.
