Choosing your starter Pokemon in any sequel is one of the hardest decisions you have to make, and you have to do it so early in the game. Scarlet Pokemon and Violet Don’t make it easy: all of the starter Pokemon in the Paldea region are super cute and eventually make great battle partners. Though technically you have to pick one of Sprigatito, Quaxly, and Fuecoco to make it yours. officially bootable, there’s no reason you can’t have them all. Isn’t that the whole point?
You won’t be able to find any of the starter Pokemon in the wild, but you can get them through the shop. We’re here to walk you through the easiest way to trade for all of you newbies below, even if you don’t have any friends involved in the series.

If you want to play old school and only trust trainers that you know how to trade, you should trade with a friend.
Just have your friend capture a Ditto in the wild and breed its starter to trade eggs. Trading newbies with someone you know is always a great time and a healthier way to catch them all.
Once everyone in your group has received additional headlines, start trading. Just open in-game. Main menugonna pokeportaland select Link store. Enter the secret code, share it with your friend and follow the instructions on the trading screen.
Find a business partner on Discord

If you are familiar with Discord, it is very easy to find a business partner online. Just create a Discord account, join this popular Scarlet Pokemon and Violet server and jump to the trading channel in the left sidebar. All you have to do is explain which Pokemon you want to get and what you need to trade (usually exclusive versions or other starter versions). There are usually friendly trainers who are happy to trade you some starter Pokémon left over from competitive breeding.
When you discover a link exchange that works for you and someone else, the game will prompt you to review the exchange before completing it. This is so you can check the Pokemon you get in exchange and make sure they don’t send you a bad Magikarp instead.
Use commercial codes of special links
Players have also come up with a special link trading code system to connect people who want to trade starter and version-exclusive Pokémon. Created by YouTuber Austin John Plays, these codes allow you to take certain Pokémon and find out which Pokémon you should receive in return, all without talking to another player. There is a video posted on Youtube that explains the system, but basically you enter each Pokémon’s Pokédex entry number to make trading easier.
The same rules apply here as above – make sure you visit the store before finalizing anything. Since the codes for certain jobs are shared between the sender and receiver, you may need to try a few times before you find the right partner.
