How to get every weapon in Resident Evil 7

Unlike the last few games in the series, Resident Evil 7 is a horror game first and an action game second. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t worry about your arsenal — on the contrary, surviving the Baker estate requires mastery of every weapon in the game. However, in order to master them, you’ll need to find them first. Some of them are naturally acquired and are in plain sight, while others are hidden in areas you might not expect.

This guide will help you get your hands on every single weapon in Resident Evil 7 (in as close to linear order as possible). You’ll need them.

Ax

The ax is the first weapon you get in Resident Evil 7 and you will immediately use it to defend yourself against a very angry opponent. Unfortunately, you’ll lose it after the game’s prologue, and there’s currently no known way to get it back. However, it will serve you well during the preliminary parts of the game.

M19 pistol

You will get the M19 pistol during the prologue of Resident Evil 7 in the Guest House, in the room near the attic. It is on the table, after your first meeting with Mia. Your weapon is confiscated soon after, but can be returned later. Use the repair kit on the broken gun you get in the trailer in the yard and you’ll be back in business. The first repair kit available is under the porch of the main house, across from the trailer, behind a metal panel you can detach.

Pocket knife

The master knife that you will use throughout Resident Evil 7 to open crates and fend off enemies in desperate moments when you run out of ammo is given to you as part of the story after the dinner scene in the main house.

pistol G17

This less powerful gun is on the ground in the garage as soon as Jack’s boss fight begins. Pick it up right after Jack kills Officer Anderson.

M37 shotgun

The M37 Shotgun is the first weapon you might miss while exploring the Baker estate. Once you gain access to the basement of the main house (“processing area”), look around until you find the Scorpion Key. Take that to the recreation room on the second floor of the house and use it to enter Grandma’s room (watch out for Jack, who is probably patrolling this area at this point). Take the broken shotgun from there and exchange it with the shotgun held by the statue in the main hall (M37). With the M37 in your inventory and the broken shotgun in the statue’s hands, you’ll be able to exit the room and continue.

Chainsaw

The Chainsaw is a powerful melee weapon that is unfortunately only available for one fight: The Second Jack Encounter. Lift him off the corpse when he grabs his giant scissors. Unfortunately, there is currently no known way to get it outside of that fight.

44 MAG

The Magnum is available as soon as you escape from the main Baker house and enter the trailer in the yard, provided you have collected enough antique coins. It takes nine to unlock 44, though it’s probably not worth it since ammo is so rare throughout the game. If you’re going to use it, you’re better off grabbing the stabilizer and/or steroids first and grabbing the magnum later in the game.

Burner

The torch is an excellent tool for removing swarms and other insects in the Old House. You’ll need to assemble it from parts found throughout Marguerite’s territory: Burner Grip is located outside the Old House, near the save point. It’s in a trash can next to some crates. The burner nozzle is also located outside, in a small hut to the right of the large hornet’s nest. If you exit through the kitchen, this small room is on the right, across the wooden planks. Combine them to create a burner.

Bomb thrower

The grenade launcher is available as soon as you find the Crow’s Key in the Old House utility building. Take it back to the main house to unlock the door in the observation room (the room with the stuffed deer on the second floor). The grenade launcher is there, but use it wisely because it doesn’t have enough ammo.

M21 shotgun

The M21 shotgun is more powerful than the M37, although it fires fewer shells before it needs to be reloaded. Even so, it’s worth using and you can actually get it pretty early. When you leave the house, you can grab the repair kit from under the porch and use it on the broken shotgun found in Grandma’s room. If you used the broken shotgun to harden the statue in the main hall to grab the M37, you can replace them again. And if you used the first repair kit on a broken gun, don’t worry – there’s another one. Grab the treasure photo (the one showing the doll’s head) in the storage room in the second floor master bedroom, then locate the head in the first area of Lucas’ testing area.

M19 pistol

The process of acquiring the M19 pistol is similar to acquiring the M21 shotgun in that it requires a repair kit. This time, use the repair kit on the broken gun in the trailer to get your hands on the M19.

MPM pistol

The MPM is a pistol that you find in a drawer in the first save room after you arrive on the tanker. At that point, it’s your only weapon, so use it well.

machine gun P19

You will use the machine gun for the first time during the flashback tape that you play on the tanker as part of the story. You can get it again later when you find the key to the captain’s cabin cabinet on the locked side of the upstairs room after getting the corrosive as part of the story. It’s on a table in the crew room on the second floor. Take the key back to the Captain’s cabin on the fourth floor and use it to unlock the locker.

A survival knife

Like the machine gun, you’ll first use the survival knife in the tanker flashback, but it’s easy to find again on the second floor just outside the elevator, sticking out of an overturned table. You’ll have to go down the elevator shaft from above to exit through the broken exit below and find the knife.

Sticky bombs

Sticky bombs are one of the most useful and amazing tools for destroying tanks in Resident Evil 7. You can do some serious damage with them, and they’re everywhere so they’re easy to find. We suggest you collect as much as possible. We discovered that there are quite a few of them in the tank section of the control room, which is on the fourth floor.

Crowbar

Many gaming fanatics may not get the chance to see a single combat where a crowbar is used. Whether or not a player gets a crowbar depends on their gameplay decisions after about 75% of the game has passed. A surefire way to get the crowbar is to choose Zoe over Mia while fighting the boss fight. We promise it pays off in the end.

Albert-01R

The Albert-01R is the deadliest pistol ever created. Die-hard fanatics will immediately recognize that the name Resident Evil is a reference to a certain series featuring a villain named Albert Wesker. You will get an upgraded version of this gun after you are actively involved in the final boss battle, acquiring a slightly simpler version. The next level for the O1R has three rounds in the chamber and offers players the ability to shoot through storage boxes during gameplay.

Circular saw

There is no messing around when it comes to a circular saw. This is a deadly melee weapon designed to kill. If you want it, you’ll have to work for it. Try your hand at completing the entire game within four short hours. Good luck.
