How to hack your NES Classic
To install games in Classic, you will need a program like Hakchi, which we will use in our example.
Step 1: The first thing you need to do is to connect your NES Classic to your Windows PC using a USB cable.
Step 2: You can find the latest version of Hakchi on the developer’s page and download it. If you are using Windows 10, all you have to do is right click on the file and select unpack everything to get the ZIP file. If not, you’ll want to extract it using WinZip or 7-Zip.
Step 3: Run the Hakchi program after extracting the ZIP file.
Step 4: You will see a new window pop up. Click on Sync select games with NES Mini button.
Step 5: The program will ask you to delete the original kernel image. Click That.
Step 6 – From here, Hakchi will provide some step-by-step instructions. Make sure the power button on your NES Classic is turned off and the console is connected via a USB cable.
Step 7: Press Force while simultaneously pressing the button Restart button. then release Restart button.
Step 8 – In Hakchi, select the Install Driver button.
Step 9: After the program finishes printing the kernel image, click Sync select games with NES Mini one more time.
Step 10 – Click after the prompt That to start flashing the kernel. Once the process is complete, click Alright. Now you can start downloading games.
Step 11: Once the game files are downloaded to your computer, select add more games in Hakci. Browse and select the specific files you want to add, then click Alright.
Step 12: Finally, after selecting all the desired games, click on Sync up. Now you’re done. super simple.
