Players expected a game with endless worlds and possibilities, but they were left with a game that had many bugs and issues that were beyond frustrating. Today, however, the game has started to live up to its expectations. Through various updates and patches, Hello Games managed to revive the game that was needed for players to really start enjoying it. One of these fantastic patches includes the ability to spawn a living ship.
Living ships are fantastic to look at and have different adaptations than regular ships. However, without the correct instructions on how to hatch a live ship, you can get a bit lost among the stars as you find them. Fortunately, we have an idea to introduce a special ship into your world.

The live ship update was part of the 2.3 update, which was released in early 2020. The game fixed a few things, but it also added some new missions and a way to claim one of these awesome ships. Living ships are a new class of rare sentient ships. As mentioned above, they have their own unique organic technologies. It is also important to remember that every life on board is different. This means that the quests, the items you look for, the planets and the coordinates to find, etc. they may differ from someone playing the same mission. Although most of the missions are the same, you may find some variations from person to person.
Step 1 – In order to get a living ship, you will need to reach at least the space anomaly. This is accomplished by simply completing the tutorial portion of the game. Step 2 – The Void Egg is an item that was introduced with the 2.3 update. This item will trigger a secret mission that you will have to participate in in order to get your hands on the living ship. While the price of the Void Egg is high at Quicksilver, it doesn’t actually sell for a good price, so we don’t recommend selling these bad boys.
Step 3: Picking up a Void Egg isn’t cheap. To get one of these awesome items, you’ll need to earn a total of 3,200 Quicksilver. If you’re having trouble finding a place to buy an empty egg, go to the vendor next to the Nexus. He has them in stock and can sell 1000 of them, but you will only need one. Unfortunately, the only way to get Quicksilver is by completing missions on Nexus. And you will have to work very hard to collect enough Quicksilver for the Void Egg. Nexus will offer a Quicksilver quest once a day, and you’ll end up with around 250 Quicksilver earned on a normal day. You will have to wait for the server to update to pick up more.
However, there is a small workaround for players who want Quicksilver a bit faster. One of the best approaches to get Quicksilver is to complete weekend missions or community missions. These quests will have higher rewards, so you will be able to collect the Void Egg faster. Usually you will be able to pick a few quests over the weekend and earn around 1200 Quicksilver over the weekend.
How to hatch an empty egg
Once you get your hands on the Void Egg, you’ll need to work to get the quest started. Make sure the Void Egg is in your inventory (and maybe you have extra space for the items you find) and start traveling the galaxy. It doesn’t matter where you decided to teleport because the missions will trigger based on the number of times you teleport. Players mentioned that they needed a different amount of warps to activate the Void Egg, so the range of warps is usually between three and 12. When warping to different systems, wait 30 seconds to see if a transfer occurs. It’s not clear if the Void Eggs are subject to warp range or if the conditions are different for each player, so keep warping until those eggs start to sing! Along with his song, you will receive a transmission with an important message and start the search for Egg Melody!
Step 1: You can receive a total of 13 messages. Twelve of these messages are descriptions of different glyphs. Remember to write down each message, as the number at the beginning of each message will help you determine the order of the portal glyphs later. Each message will correspond to the galaxy you should go to. It’s also important to remember that you’ll receive these messages in a random order, so writing them down can be very helpful. For those who are hatching the Void Egg themselves, it might also be helpful to take a screenshot of each message as it arrives so you don’t forget anything important.
Step 2 – Each encoded message will describe a specific glyph, so you’ll need to decode the meaning of each message. This part of the mission may take some time as it requires traveling to different galaxies to decode. However, the end result is the password and the location of the portal. Go through the portal and you will find yourself in Erpetrith Ray.
Step 3 – Erpetrith Raya is a waste planet, which can come as a shock to players who haven’t visited it yet. The planet is littered with worthless items placed on it by other players. You can actually fall through the ground while spawning on a planet. If this happens, just go back to your ship; Do not panic. This is quite normal on the planet of garbage.

Step 4 – When you arrive at your ship, you will receive an incoming message. The message will say “Look at us in the stars.” Once you get that, head back into space and fly around until the game announces that an anomaly has been detected. This anomaly will be a living ship and players will start the Starbirth mission. Players who follow the instructions for the Starbirth mission will receive a relic to build a ship component.
Step 5: The Starbirth mission will require players to follow the Void Egg’s instructions to different planets. You will need to find specific planets and components for your living ship. Everything is random, so you will have to figure it out yourself. Each player will receive different instructions, so listen carefully to the instructions and see where the Void Egg takes you! If you find the correct planet, the Void Egg will give you the coordinates when you enter the planet’s atmosphere. So if you don’t get the coordinates while descending, you can try another planet.
Step 6: Once you find the correct planet, land and search for a relic that will provide you with the blueprints needed to build your living ship. Once the component is built, you can move on to the next part of the search.
Step 7: Keep doing this until you have made all the components. When you’re done, you’ll be able to travel through space in your own living ship!
