How to heal in Dying Light 2

Dying Light 2 gives Aiden plenty of opportunities to get hurt. Players will need to know how to heal themselves Dying Light 2 between fighting the infected, Renegades and gravity. Fortunately, Aiden has many treatment options, such as medicine, campfires, medical kits, and sleeping bags. Here’s how to heal Dying Light 2, the best ways to heal and when you should burn your healing items. Sometimes rebirth is a better option.

How to heal in Dying Light 2

The first healing recipe you will learn Dying Light 2 is the basic medicine. The drug works more like bandages, but we’re not debating semantics. Either way, Aiden must collect the necessary ingredients, craft the medicine, and then “apply” it to regain HP.

Step 1: Pay attention to chamomile and honey, the only two ingredients you will need to make the remedy Dying Light 2. You’ll find both in rooftop gardens scattered throughout Villedor. These gardens are marked by tall yellow trees, making them almost impossible to miss. You will also find usable weapons and resources other than healing ingredients. These gardens are always worth looting whenever you pass by.

Step 2: Go to the crafting tab and hover over the medicine icon. Here you will either craft individual items or a batch (which burns through all your available resources). In addition to medicines, you will use honey and chamomile to make various enhancers. One of these boosters, the Regeneration Booster, heals you over time. However, we never found ourselves using one, and the upgrade materials needed to make them viable are better spent on other items. Furthermore, we generally didn’t build other boosters because they are plentiful in the game. Therefore, we recommend serial production of as many drugs as possible.

Step 3: Apply the medicine whenever you are in low health. The cure takes a few seconds to apply, so give yourself some breathing room before you start healing in the middle of a fight. Fortunately, the cast time and total HP restored improves as you upgrade the potion through craftmasters. Head to the nearest crafter and trade infected trophies and old world money to further upgrade your cure (and other crafting items).

While medicine acts as Aiden’s primary (and immediate) source of healing, there are several other ways to heal in the Dying Light 2.

Military medkits

Military medkis are the best healing item Dying Light 2. However, you won’t find them until later in the game, at least not in abundance. You can earn military medkits as quest rewards or find them while exploring GRE facilities. They are plentiful during the epilogue, so open every medicine cabinet you come across to stock up.

You apply military medkits the same way you would any other consumable. Unlike medicine, these healing kits are almost instant and restore all of Aiden’s HP. They are considered artifact level consumables.

Don’t waste military meds while exploring. Better to head to a safe zone or campfire. Use them to avoid dying at the end of a long mission, even though you’d respawn at the final (and very generous) checkpoint.

Campfires

A campfire just requires a little patience and a keen eye to regain all your health. As you explore Villedor, you’ll see these book-like icons on your compass indicating a campfire. Approach the circle of survivors and sit with them to gradually regain HP. It can take a minute, especially if you’ve invested a few health upgrades. However, campfires are the best way to recover HP without burning resources or finding a safe zone.

Safe zones

Sometimes a good night’s sleep is all Aiden needs. When you’re low on HP, don’t want to use up supplies, and can’t find a campfire, resting during the day or night restores all of Aiden’s HP. Don’t want to run around at night? Do not worry. Just wait for the morning to pick up where you left off. Since there are no tasks Dying Light 2 are necessarily time sensitive, Aiden can rest as long as he wants. There is no reason to go to Villedor with anything less than full health.

The price of death

Dying Light 2 it doesn’t have to be as punishing as Dark souls, but it could have been a bit more challenging. Whenever Aiden came close to death, especially while exploring, it was more beneficial to try to fight back (risking death) than to waste healing items. So when you are wondering how to heal yourself Dying Light 2, the best answer (sometimes) is don’t. For the cost of a few XP points, you can respawn nearby with full HP.
